One in four women will experience abuse in her lifetime.
She may be a neighbor, a friend, or family member...
maybe even YOU!
On January 10, 2010, the Resource Center of Somerset begins a new era of providing services to people affected by domestic abuse in Somerset County. Formerly the Resource Center for Women and Their Families since 1979 and briefly Safe Horizons of Somerset in 2009, the agency has been providing crucial services to empower victims of abusive relationships as well as advocating safety and prevention.
We want to assure our clients, past and present, the community service agencies with whom we work hand-in-hand, our generous supporters and, most importantly, the community at large, that the high quality of our services long identified by the professional standards set by our agency, are in no way diminished. Instead, we expect to be even more accessible to every individual who suffers from or is affected by domestic abuse. We will continue to provide services to all, women, men and children, and expand our programming as necessary to meet their needs.
OUR MISSION:
To end domestic abuse and
empower victims by providing protection, education and resources.
